Faranak and William met me at a beautiful park on a summer afternoon in Portland Maine. Before we even started, I began to learn more about how the two met, and what they like to do together. We slowly made our way to the small pond at the entrance of the park. Given that they met dancing, they showed me some of their moves.

The two told me a bit about their plans for the future - including what they want their wedding to be like. I got a sense of their connection to each other and their friendship as we strolled through the park and found interesting light and nature around us.

Moments that showcased personality

After the session ended, I realized that what makes couples sessions (and any session really) unique and documentary is to focus on individual hobbies and interests. By incorporating an activity into the session, everyone is at ease. For this session, the moments of dance showcased this couples personality and interests. Creating images that will be cherished for years to come.
